And they're off!

Saturday Steven and I decided to go on a fancy date to the Del Mar horse races. I was super excited to get dolled up and break out the floral print, fancy head piece, grandmothers pearls, and va-va-voooom red lips!

Whew knew that horse races were so exciting? All the different hats, fun fashions, and all the horses flying by as people either jumped for joy or anger. I think I found my second favorite sport. (The Dallas Cowboys will always be #1 in this heart) We plan on putting this on the list of "our thing".

I was excited that my horse was in the lead...until the end came BUT it did come in 3rd and that's medal worthy in the olympics!

You say tomatoe, I say tomato.

So I thought of a great day date with Steven. I wanted to step outside the dating box. I wanted something more than movies and dinner or eating ice cream while walking along the beach (even though I enjoy those things very much) Living social must have read my mind because I got a email for an annual Tomato Battle. There was an 80's cover band, beer gardens, free tees, and tomato smashing galore.

Fair winds & following seas.

Today was the squadrons last helicopter flight before decomissioning. What a perfect day for an awesome photo op! HS-10 Warhawks :)

Reenlistment Day!

"I, Jade Nichole Daniel, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Today I  reenlisted for another 4 years in the United States Navy and I don't have that "What the eff did I just do?" feeling. Honestly, the Navy has been a big blessing for me. It has helped me grow in so many ways. 7 1/2 years ago there was this bored 18 year old wanting to get the hell out of Temple, TX and there was a knock at the opportunity door. Navy? Challenge accepted! I've experienced so much that others would kill to see and do. It's such an honor to be apart of something so amazing while defending & protecting our country. This career path was the best choice I have ever made, hands down.

I also got some nice gadgets a new pen to sign my reenlistment papers, a honorable discharge pin, and a mini book of the constitution lol ohh military gifts. Oh and I got a cake also but the fat boys in my shop ate it all. It's okay, my hips don't need the extra pounds. Go Navy :)

Snip.Snip.

Dear lovely locks,

With summer in town and bringing San Diego this scorching weather of 80 degrees (lol) I was thinking it's time to go our seperate ways. Don't get me wrong, having you grow past my sholders is great for styling and makes it easy for the mandatory military bun but it's gotten way too hot to keep you at superstar status. So with this being said, I'm cutting you off. Just a little. I'm sure this will better our relationship.

Oh and you'll thank me when we get to Texas for my birthday next month. Rumor has it that it's already hit 100+ degrees there. You're welcome.

Love,
Jade

Ohh. My new skull sleeveless top is my new obsession. It's from Modcloth.
